Sunset Cliffs Elopement San Diego

Sunset Cliffs Elopement San Diego

Payton + Quincy

This Sunset Cliffs elopement is filled with gorgeous sweeping coastal views, a fun couple, and the dreamiest sunshine!

Payton reached out to me ahead of time letting me know that they’d be coming from Seattle to San Diego, and wanted to take the opportunity to get married while they were here. They were bringing along their 3 month old, and 3 of their closets friends. She envisioned sunset cliffs after being inspired on Pinterest, she knew that’s where they wanted to share vows. I suggested my favorite location within Sunset Cliffs, as there are a ton of different sections to choose from.

The great part of Sunset Cliffs is that you are allowed to elope without needing a permit, as long as it’s under 25 guests, and it’s a free standing wedding, (meaning no chairs, setups, arches, etc.) Which allows for an easy elopement experience! I do recommend aiming for a weekday as weekends have a lot more foot traffic.

We started off at Osprey St, and I helped setup their first look, the intimate ceremony followed, officiated by one of their friends, and after we had a great time shooting along the coast, before we made our way over to another section that would actually give us beach access. We ended the evening on a small beach, popped champagne, Payton and Quincy shared cupcakes, before they ended up splashing in the chilly water! The weather was great, we had moody clouds and sunshine that shifted through the whole evening, which gave us a variety of fun lighting.

Check out their day below! xx
